We Are Growing!

Covid-19 brought to light the many mental health needs of young people and old, first responders, the medical and educational communities. As our world has begun the climb out of isolation, our culture is more willing to talk about conflict, coping and cooperation. Facilities across the country are reaching out as they seek innovative tools to help those who are struggling. The number of requests for trained dogs increases daily and we find that we are outgrowing the Purpose Building. We are currently building a kennel and seeking to add to our staff in order to meet those needs. Funding for the kennels, vet care, food, travel - all are funded by donations. We are grateful for our friends.

Long before Bella’s Buddies achieved 501C-3 status, Golden Rule Retrievers, LLC was training and donating dogs to veterans, active duty military families, schools, nonprofit organizations, families with terminally ill children, and families with special needs.

We have donated over $500,000 in dogs and training.

Thanks to our friends, we are now able to aim higher, train more dogs and expand our programs. This year will be the best yet!

2020 Vision

SUCCESS! ✅

In October 2019, our Board of Directors moved to outfit the metal building on the property with a training room, a simulated hospital room, a physical therapy lab, and a small apartment that can be used when out teams are working with their dogs. In February of 2020, Mr. Kirby Attwell and Nancy’s Angel Fund hosted a Capital fundraiser at River Oaks Country Club in Houston and over $100,000 was raised to complete the renovations on the building!

The training facility and accommodations were completed December 2020. Kindness was contagious and our vision did not do justice to the reality that is Purpose: Nancy’s Compassion In Action. Because of friends who want to help others, we will be able to place more dogs with targeted training in 2022. Currently, work is underway on a new kennel that will House 15 dogs. Thank you to our major donors and to those whose gifts are making it possible to grow our organization and reach more veterans, schools, and organizations.
